Nettops
Nettops is the latest rage in computers! First came mini desktops, then came netbooks
(mini laptops) and now there are nettops. Nettops are small (mini) desktops that are also
inexpensive. These computers are not intended for those who need a workhorse computer or a gaming
computer. A nettop might be the perfect solution for a kitchen or a second computer. They are good
for word processing or light surfing the Internet. Oftentimes the nettops use less energy than their
larger siblings.
Nettops come in various formats including the traditional styles in which the
monitor is a separate piece of hardware or an all-in-one in which the monitor is an integrated part of the
computer. Some examples include the Eee Box from ASUS, the AspireRevo from Acer, the fit-PC from CompuLab
and others.
